5out of ALL of my 600 cd's, this is in the top 3!!!Feb 03, 2003

this is the only cd i have ever replaced after something happened to the first one! i keep a burned copy of this cd hidden away now for just-in-case purposes...
this reaches down into whatever soul i have left and rescusitates me... rejuvenates... uplifts my dead body from the cold ground and re-animates me/giving me life and reason to live... yall aint gotta be touched like that ...but if you even THINK you do, even a lil' bit... then if this cant do it, nothing else ever will... fareal...

One of the best cuts of the O'Jays that I have ever encountered. I have occasionally heard many of the tunes on this CD and there are a few of them that really hit the spot in terms of sentimentality and mood enhancement.

5Aw, c'mon, fellas, jus' hit me with it one more time...Nov 09, 2002

...you know what I'm talkin' 'bout right? That sublime meditation on love called 'Stairway to Heaven'. You can't get much better than the O'Jays singin' 'bout some love an' romance. This ri'chere is jus' a compilation, simple as that, of some'a their best an' lesser-known ballads, but is' worth every penny, fa'real. The title track 'Let Me Make Love to You' is a classic, but the one you'll buy this for is, like I said, 'Stairway to Heaven', trust me. Everytime I listen to this, I end up repeating it 'bout four or five times in a row. Then when the CD stops, an' starts over, I listen to it another four or five times. 'You and Me' is jus' overflowing wit' passion an' soul, 'Listen to the Clock on the Wall' is a hypnotic song 'bout a forbidden affair, 'What Am I Waiting For' is pure heartbreak an' loss, the kind where you can't move on, all you can do is sit at home an' be with your thoughts, 'Where Did We Go Wrong' is straight heartbreak too, but much breezier an' accepting of it, although you're still replaying the relationship in your head an' tryin' to figure out where it all went up in smoke. 'Family Reunion' is a monumental ballad 'bout sweet redemption, an' the closer 'Never Break Us Up' ends it on a positive an' hopeful note of true love never dying. I woulda ended it wit' sumpin' a lil' more dour personally, but thas' 'cause I'm more used to bein' let down by love than findin' pure happiness in it.

Simply put, this is one'a the greatest collections of old school R&B ballads I've heard, an' if you goin' out wit' a girl or havin' a girl over, an' you need some smooth background music to accompany you, you won't go wrong wit' this. She'll melt in your arms, or if you're on the other end'a the spectrum, an' you're spendin' your nights alone 'cause you can't get that one special person off ya mind, then use this to revitalize your spirit an' soul, an' maybe you'll come off that "you got it bad" syndrome an' get back in the game. The just of it is that the O'Jays, one'a the originaters of the Philly soul sound along with the Spinners, are, in a word, timeless. I mean, c'mon, will singing about love, romance, heartache, bedroom moments, arguments, relationships in general, etc., honestly, will it EVER get OLD? Hell naw, 'cause love makes the world go 'round, an' if you can put you some music behind your world, it's all for the better.
